Hi! I'm Sara.

My passion for craftsmanship began as a child, when I learned to sew with my grandmother. After studying theater costume design at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan and working as a costume assistant, it was an encounter with a milliner that introduced me to the world of handcrafted hats. After several years of experience as a couturier and milliner in an Italian haute couture house, I decided to create something of my own, one that spoke to my style and passions. Thus, Birdcage Hats was born.

Today, I have a studio in Lille, northern France, where I create accessories that speak to me and, above all, to you! All my creations are crafted with high-quality materials and meticulous attention to detail. The Birdcage Hats collections are a blend of artistic influences, often inspired by historical costumes.

In addition to the collection you'll always find available (a selection of ready-made hats, headbands, and accessories), I offer a custom creation service where I guide my clients step by step through the creation of an accessory that fully meets their desires.

This is one of the most beautiful parts of my job: connecting with you, listening to you, and creating an accessory that makes you and the moment you wear it unique, whether it's an evening with friends, a ceremony, or your wedding day.
